The Department of Internal Medicine at JPS Health Network is currently seeking a full-time Outpatient Neurologist to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This is a unique opportunity to practice outpatient neurology in a mission-driven health system that serves a diverse and growing patient population.
The Department of Internal Medicine provides comprehensive specialty care across the JPS continuum, including the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and a network of Community Medicine Clinics throughout Tarrant County. Our team includes more than 90 providers representing a wide range of specialties, including Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Dermatology, and Rheumatology.
Job Summary:
The Neurologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive neurological care, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultations, in an outpatient clinic setting with the option for inpatient coverage. This role also includes educating patients on preventive care and prescribed treatments, as well as performing evaluations, ordering diagnostic tests, and serving as the patient’s primary neurological care provider.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinates the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize patient care.
- Reviews patient medical charts to diagnose, treat, and provide care management and education to patients and families.
- Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
- Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
- Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores. Demonstrates patient centered and patient valued behavior.
- Maintains a collaborative environment with other referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care.
- Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
- Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process.
- Partners and communicates with acumen to build a positive brand and patient/customer experience for those who encounter JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group. This would include health network staff, vendors, outside partners, patients, stakeholders, and local community leaders.
- Serves as a resource to the community.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine
- Residency and/or Fellowship training within Neurology
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas
- Board Certification or Board Eligible in Neurology
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility
- Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area
- Must have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills
- Must be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach
- Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior
